12 Scots included in teams to take on World and European juniors

Scott McLay (Perth City), Luke Robins, Isobel Jones (Millfield) Tom Beeley (University of Aberdeen Performance), Ryan Retson (FIRST) and Anna Fleming (City of Glasgow Swim Team) are among the team of 37 athletes who will compete at the LEN European Junior event in Netanya, Israel from 28 June to 2 July while Keanna MacInnes, Lexie Waller (Hearts,) Cassie Wild (Ellesmere College), Nikki Miller (East Kilbride), Katie Robertson (South Ayrshire) and George Clough (Warrender) are included in the team of 21 has been selected to compete at the FINA World Junior Championships from 23 to 28 August in the U.S. city of Indianapolis.

Six Scots set for FINA World Championships

Six Scottish swimmers are amongst a 29-strong British Swimming team selected to compete at this summer’s FINA World Championships in Budapest. Hannah Miley, Kathleen Dawson, Duncan Scott, Ross Murdoch, Stephen Milne and Mark Szaranek have all been selected based on performances at the British Swimming Championships, and will join the likes of Olympic Champion Adam Peaty and Olympic medallists Jazz Carlin, Siobhan-Marie O’Connor, James Guy, as well as a group of emerging younger swimmers some of whom will be making their senior international debut.

Scott pipped to silver in thrilling finale

The British Swimming Championships concluded this evening at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre with a hotly anticipated finale involving the best of British 200m freestylers. Duncan Scott (University of Stirling) was fastest going into the final and held the smallest of leads at the half way mark. However, you can never write off a field that includes reigning world champion for the event, James Guy, and with 50m to go, the race between Scott and Guy was well and truly on.

Szaranek left frustrated by medley performance

While Mark Szaranek may have secured another Team Scotland consideration time for next year’s Commonwealth Games on Australia’s Gold Coast, his silver medal winning performance in the 200m IM left the 21 year old far from satisfied on the penultimate day of the British Swimming Championships.

Water Polo Cup Finals Day Returns to Olympia

Top water polo action returns to Olympia in Dundee on Sunday 23 April, as the Scottish Cup Finals will be played out with six trophies up for grabs. Teams have been competing in the various knockout qualification rounds and twelve teams representing five clubs have reached their respective finals when a one game shoot out will determine who will be crowned Scottish Champions.

Murdoch reclaims his 200m crown
