Recommended age:
4-15 months
Designed to introduce babies who have had their triple injections to the pleasure of water play, whilst the parent/carer joins in.

Award Conditions
Aims:
- To introduce the baby to the medium of water and the pool environment.
- To provide the adult with the working knowledge of a range of skills, to handle the baby in the water with confidence and safety.
- To provide the adult with an understanding of safe submersion of the baby.
- To provide a stimulating and enjoyable programme which is underpinned by the understanding of the baby’s development.
Conditions:
The following conditions must be fulfilled:
- Make a safe entry into shallow water - sitting entry; by the steps.
- Demonstrate 3 progressive supports - prone position.
- Demonstrate 3 progressive supports - supine position.
- Demonstrate the ‘Yolk’ vertical support.
- Demonstrate transferred support from one hand to another.
- Demonstrate close and extended holds.
- Demonstrate moves with and without eye contact.
- Submerge baby to a maximum of 12", safely in any position.
- Rotate baby from front to back, safely in any position.
- Suspend baby independently with aids.
- Demonstrate safe exits via steps and side.
Additional Notes:
- Children should be 4 months - 15 months.
- Children must have received triple medical injections.
- Children should be under the supervision of an adult in the water.
