National Swimming Award

The National Swimming Award has been designed to set nationally approved standards of competence that every child can expect to achieve by the age of ten years. Presented as a teaching pack this programme is ideally suited to school swimming lessons with the core skills covered in both levels complementing the Learn to Swim Programme: The skills covered within the first level, the NSA, are covered at level 4 and the NSA PLUS at level 8 of the national syllabus.

The 6 test items at each level are followed by an interactive water safety card that is ideal for classroom discussion/projects. To complement the programme and to help track development the National swimming Award now has its own swimmer log card.
