The Equity Framework was launched in 2004 by UK Sport and there are four levels of accreditation;
Foundation Preliminary Intermediate and Advanced
Each level covers activities within two main areas:
Developing your organisation in regards to the culture, policies, procedures and decisions.
Developing your services in regards to the programmes, customer service, and communication In 2006 Scottish Swimming was awarded the Foundation Level of the standard and the Preliminary Level in 2009.
The Equity Action Plan has been developed to help Scottish Swimming promote, implement and monitor the activities of the governing body and its members in raising the awareness of equity in swimming.
The action plan is to sit along side the current Scottish Swimming Corporate Plan 2006-2014 and reflects the 4 main areas of operation; Healthy Living, Development, Performance and Corporate
Development. The Equity Action Plan also links closely to the Scottish Swimming Volunteer Development Strategy and the Scottish Swimming Disability Swimming Development Plan 2007-2012 to help achieve its outcomes, both areas identified as a priority by the governing body and key partners such as sportscotland and Scottish Disability Sport (SDS).
Scottish Swimming is currently working towards the Intermediate Level.
