Water Polo Competitions

The Scottish Water Polo Committee hosts two competitions:  Scottish National Leagues and The Scottish National Championships.  

Scottish National Leagues (SNL) feature round-robin matches in the following divisions: Senior Men, Senior Women, Mixed Juniors - Under 18, and Mixed Juniors - Under 16.    

Senior league matches typically occur January through June.   Junior league matches typically occur August through December.  

National Championships "Cups" pit competitors against each other in a single elimination format with matchups drawn randomly.   The divisions are the following and the winner takes home the respective trophy:

Senior Men - "Scottish Cup"

Senior Women - "Graz Trophy"

Men's Under 21 - "Malta Trophy"

Mixed Under 18 -"Mellors Trophy"

Mixed Under 16 - "Academy Trophy".   

Other competitions and festivals are held by clubs, schools and the development officer for all levels.
