Alison Low (President) Current Role/Job: Council Member Year appointed to Council: 2013 Alison graduated with a BSc and PhD in Soil Science, then worked for several years at Rutgers University, New Jersey, before returning to the UK. Over 25 years ago, when her children moved into a club from Learn To Swim, Alison was invited onto poolside as a volunteer. She went on to qualify as a Swimming Teacher and Coach, becoming a squad coach, then Head Coach. She also moved through the STO pathway to Referee level. Alison is currently Head Teacher at Aberdeen LTS, where 900 swimmers are taught to swim every week under the care of 38 teachers and 50 assistants. In addition, she is Head Coach at Aberdeen ASC. Alison delivers training camps locally and co-instigated a coaches’ forum within the North District. Alison has volunteered at Club, District, Scottish and GB level. She is a qualified Swimming Tutor, who regularly delivers Teaching and Coaching courses and Scottish Swimming Framework CPDs.
