We are looking to appoint an Assistant Head Coach to work in collaboration with our existing staff and lead the club into its exciting next phase. KASC has an extensive history and remains an ambitious swimming club, committed to providing high quality coaching to children and young people from the local area. We pride ourselves on supporting the development of swimmers to achieve their individual potential and aspirations. Our club culture is extremely valuable and something we place a huge emphasis on. We are seeking an Assistant Head Coach who embodies these values and is also looking to develop their own coaching skills to the benefit of our talented and promising swimmers. Job description: 1. To Liaise with the Head Coach to set and achieve Performance and Cultural goals for the Club, specifically relating to the Annual Plan. 2. Provide a committed and professional approach towards coaching, supporting each swimmer to reach their full potential. 3. To construct scientifically based training cycles around club targets and based around the OADF Principles. 4. Working in collaboration with the existing coaching team; ensure the preparation of training session plans for assigned squads. 5. Support the coaches of the development squads to ensure effective training plans for all swimmers. 6. Support with the running of a swimmer/parent education programme focussing on a variety of swimming related topics and lifestyles issues. 7. Attend appropriate weekend competitions and training camps, with supervised delegation to appropriately qualified coaches and team managers where necessary. 8. Liaise with other Clubs’ on combined training opportunities. 9. Monitor swimmers’ progress and co-ordinate swimmer movements between squads in conjunction with the other squad coaches and head coach. 10. Support head coach with team management admin and club projects. 11. Interact and consult with the Committee, attend committee meetings when the head coach is unavailable. 12. Attend to other such general duties associated with the post of Assistant Head Coach. Follow Health & Safety Procedures and the Scottish Swimming Child Protection Policy. Be aware of and adhere to the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and Normal Operating Procedures (NOP) of all training facilities. Skills and Qualities needed: • Level 2 coach preferred, or Level 1 coach willing to undertake Level 2 qualification within 6 month period • Performance Coaching Skills • Self-Motivated • High levels of technical knowledge • Excellent communication skills • Strong Ability to build relationships • Good time management skills • Ability to motivate others Position is self-employed.
