Bridge of Don Amateur Swim Club [BODASC] are looking for a level 2 qualified swimming coach to lead and manage our bronze squad.  This is an exciting opportunity to deliver squad sessions within a competitive and dynamic programme in Aberdeen.  You should be enthusiastic and confident to lead the athletes through their training and development within the club and it’s various pathways.  If you want to join a club who will work with you on your training and development to allow you to develop our athletes then we are the club for you.

Position available:

  • Bronze Squad Coach [up to 3 sessions per week + competitions].  Competitive rate of pay.

Main Functions:

  • Carry out your duties in a professional manner and be willing to cover other squads when required;
  • Attend competitions where required and
  •  provide feedback and support to swimmers and other coaches;
  • Follow codes of conduct and child protection policies;
  • Provide a yearly plan to the head coach and to ensure that sessions plans are prepared and evaluated;
  • Attend training and coaches meetings when required;
  • Attend occasional meetings out with usual poolside duties;
  • Communicate with all swimmers, parents and other participants of the sport in a polite, professional and friendly manner;
  • Complete any task that is considered necessary to ensure the effective running of the club; and
  • Committed to supporting the pathway from Learn to Swim through the club squads and into UoA [University of Aberdeen Performance Swimming] and maintaining the relationships involved in the pathway.

Qualifications & Professional Membership:

  • Membership of SASA;
  • Qualified to UKCC Level 2 Coaching/Swim Teacher
  • PVG Membership for Regulated Work with Children or willingness to obtain prior to a formal offer of employment being made
  • Experienced Level 1s may be considered
