British Swimming is coming off the back of its most successful ever year, 2016, where the team achieved its best ever result in diving and the best Olympic and Paralympic results for swimming for 100 years - outstanding results given the level of success at London 2012.

British Swimming is the National Governing Body for Swimming, Para-Swimming, Diving, High Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Open Water in Great Britain. It is responsible internationally for the high performance representation of the sport. British Swimming seeks to enable its athletes to achieve gold medal success at the Olympics, Paralympics, World Championships and Commonwealth Games.

The organisation continually seeks to develop its strong role in international influence within the European Swimming International Federation, (Ligue Européenne de Natation – (LEN)), Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA) and International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Swimming, shaping the sport and building more interest across the globe.
