Posted: 01 December 2020 Cardenden ASC - Teacher-Coach vacancies Organisation: Cardenden ASC Location: Bowhill Swimming Pool Job Type: Part-time, voluntary Hours: Between one to six per week available, over two evenings with occasional weekends (around four per year) Salary: These are currently voluntary roles although reasonable expenses will be paid and the Club may contribute to teaching/coaching qualifications, subject to Committee approval. Closing date: 15 January 2021 Apply Cardenden Amateur Swimming Club is a family-friendly swimming club at the heart of the local community. Founded in 1955, the club is run by volunteers who show great commitment and are proud of the friendly, enthusiastic culture they create. We currently have around 20 swimmers from 5 years upwards and of all abilities, and are a club that provides quality, fun training sessions, mainly for fitness although we offer competitive swimming opportunities to those who want to compete. We are an inclusive club, welcoming children who have different needs and aim to provide the opportunity for all swimmers, regardless of their ability, to be the best that they can be and to reach their highest level of achievement through hard work, discipline, support, encouragement and team spirit provided by the coaches, teachers, swimmers and parents. CASC is a growing Club that is looking to expand our existing teaching and coaching team and seeks positive, supportive, inclusive and progressive new volunteers to join our team. We require teachers and coaches with sound technical knowledge and some practical experience who can inspire, encourage and develop our swimmers. These roles allow the opportunity to teach and coach across all levels of ability within our club and will suit individuals looking to gain or develop swim teaching and club coaching experience. Successful candidates will need to be a good communicator and motivator to develop our swimmers effectively and be able to work positively with our existing motivated coaching team and Committee Members. You will demonstrate good coaching practice ensuring a consistent approach towards technical standards and will be required to join the PVG scheme (or update as appropriate). Key Attributes for the posts: Head Coach Ideally UKCC Level 3 Coaching Swimming or Level 2 Coaching Swimming/Teaching Aquatics/SSTQ (with coaching experience) willing to work towards Level 3 Coaching. Development Coach Ideally UKCC Level 2 Coaching Swimming or Level 1 Coaching Swimming/Teaching Aquatics/SSTQ (with coaching experience) willing to work towards Level 2 Coaching. Swimming Teacher Preferably SSTQ or UKCC Level 1 or 2 Teaching Aquatics willing to work towards an SSTQ conversion. Confidence, personable, reliability, positivity, patience, technically proficient.
