Posted: 28 February 2022 City of Glasgow Swim Team: Assistant Coaches Organisation: City of Glasgow Swim Team Location: Glasgow (city wide) Job Type: Part-Time Hours: 6 and 14 (or a combined 20) Salary: Competitive Closing date: 04 March 2022 City of Glasgow Swim Team are excited to offer two assistant coaching positions. * Junior Development Squad Lead Coach - 14 hours (employed) * Masters Squad Lead Coach - 6 hours (employed) We are seeking to discuss these opportunities with interested, enthusiastic, hard working and knowledgeable swim coaches. The positions are employed with a competitive salary level and other benefits. Although two posts are offered, it may be possible to combine them for one 20 hour package for the right person. Suitable candidates will already have experience of coaching within a swimming club setting and a thorough understanding of swimming technique and the long-term nature of swimming development. Applications are welcome from all sections of the community and should demonstrate current coaching skills/competencies and all relevant experience and qualifications gained thus far. The successful candidates will be organised, proactive and capable of working both independently and contributing positively to an effective wider coaching team. Excellent communication skills are vital, along with the ability to easily engage and build trust with swimmers under their charge. Coaching will take place at venues across the city of Glasgow although travel to other venues for competitions will be a requirement of the role. City of Glasgow Swim Team are one of Scotland and the UK's leading swimming clubs. Based at the famous Tollcross International Swimming Centre and other pools around the city, the club have a growing membership and ambitious plans for further success and progress. Recent successes include winning the inaugural Scottish Swimming National League title and placing over 50 swimmers on Scottish National Squad programmes. The club runs programmes from novice to elite and is led by two senior performance coaches, Ian Wright and Danielle Brayson, both of whom will provide additional mentoring guidance to the successful candidates. City of Glasgow Swim Team currently have a number of International swimmers within the team including Olympians, World Championship finalists, European Junior athletes and Paralympians.
