Job Purpose

Contributing to and supporting the development of the a relevant leisure or cultural service development portfolio, the Development Officer will ensure the delivery of the highest quality services, supporting change, challenging the status quo and contributing to the design and delivery of innovative, modern and sustainable services. Working within a performance management and continuous improvement framework the postholder will strive to exceed the expectations of the East Ayrshire Leisure Strategy and Delivery Plan and in doing so promote and recognise the importance of people in delivering our vision and values.

Your enthusiasm and passion for delivering swimming and fitness programmes will be driven by a commitment to develop services that are valued and embedded in local community life, improving the enjoyment, health and wellbeing of local people. Contributing to the provision and design of an innovative and modern activities and maintenance programme, you will enhance opportunities for our venues to flourish by maximising capacity and becoming a thriving, customer-focussed facility. Through a determination to deliver Leisure at the Heart of Every Community you will strive to exceed the expectations of our Strategic Vision and Corporate Delivery Plan and in doing so promote and recognise the importance of our vision and values.

Specific Key Activities:

* Day to day management of sports venues; specifically swimming pools, sports halls, gym halls and synthetic grass pitches.

* Undertake the role of RLSS Approved Training Centre Coordinator ensuring compliance

* Manage, monitor and evaluate venue programmes e.g. public, family and lane swimming, adult and kids activity sessions, ‘Rookie Lifeguard’ and ‘Learn to Swim’

* In addition to all Health & Safety processes outlined within the Job Description, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of swimming pool plants.

* Seek, and develop, mutually beneficial partnerships that will have a positive impact on the lives of our local residents, such as:

Rate of Pay

Rate of Pay = £28,064 - £30,667 per year

Hours of Work:-
Mon to Thurs:- 9:00am - 5:00pm
Friday:- 9:00am - 4:00pm

The workstyle for the post is “Flexible” 50-70% of time is office based. The post holder is able to work at different/multiple work locations, including working from home and travelling directly from home to external appointments approximately 1-2 days per week.

This post is temporary until 31/03/23
