Glasgow University Swimming and Water Polo Club (GUSWPC) are seeking applicants for the role of Swimming Head Coach.

GUSWPC is one of the largest clubs on campus and caters for swimmers of all abilities As a Glasgow University Development Club, GUSWPC are continually developing attitudes within the club with the aim of establishing it as a top competitive swimming club in Scotland.

The Club competes on a weekly basis in the Scottish Student Sport (SSS) league with major meets coming at British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) Championships three times a year, in short course, long course and team formats.

The Club also competes in various other annual events such the Scottish Universities Aquatics Championship which we attend with around 30 swimmers. The Head Coach role will primarily focus on the development of the team and competitive swimmers within the club.

There will be a requirement to work with less experienced swimmers but the club has a strong support system of volunteer coaches to assist with this side of the programme.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is driven, with an in-depth knowledge of the sport who can help us achieve our goals. The Club are looking to fill this position by September 2014, in time for pre-season starting before the main university term. This is an excellent opportunity for an upcoming or well-established coach to develop their skills at a high level of swimming.
