Specifically, the services to be delivered cover Performance Squads Coaching and Head Coach services. Working with the Executive Committee you will ensure the club delivers on its vision to inspire and develop our members to achieve their potential in swimming in an inclusive performance environment. We are seeking to build a culture where: We have a strong team spirit and are committed to supporting each other We have a one club ethos and every swimmer’s development is important We are friendly and fun We are resilient and face challenges positively We are supportive and inclusive We are organized We strive to achieve and celebrate our success We respect each other Overview Carnegie Swimming Club requires a coaching contractor to: Develop and deliver the coaching programme for the Performance & Junior Performance Squads Bring cohesiveness to the coaching programme across the club as a Head Coach through the implementation of key tasks (outlined below) As the most senior coach delivering coaching services, the Head Coach will be a figurehead for the club and, supported by a Coach Liaison Officer, will work in partnership with the Committee to deliver the vision for the club. The club has around 140 junior members and trains in a number of pools in West Fife with a weekly session at NSA Stirling. Key tasks for the coaching contractor are: To provide a coaching and development programme for our Performance & Junior Performance Squads, assisting the athletes to achieve their full potential with the objective of providing the foundations for achieving success at senior levels of the sport To lead and coordinate the coaching team, providing advice and support to coaches and helpers To provide clear, progressive and accessible development paths for athletes and coaches of all abilities, and give feedback on progression Abide by and promote sound ethics and club policies; well-being, fair play and equal opportunities to all members To embed an ethos of inclusion in relation to aspects of the protected characteristics Working with the Coach Liaison Officer to build a strong partnership with the club management committee to support club development initiatives To ensure there are planned and appropriate competitive opportunities for all members Communicate effectively and consistently with swimmers, parents and Club committee to provide feedback on performance and areas of opportunity & development To attend and contribute to appropriate club meetings It is expected that the coaching contractor will be: Motivational and ambitious Good at organisation and communication skills Willing to develop and improve as a coach Able to spot talent and nurture it Able to make sessions enjoyable and to build a team ethos Efficient and effective time management Able to show an appropriate level of technical knowledge Approachable and friendly To effectively deliver the coaching service the coaching contractor will be: Qualified to Level 3 Swimming Coaching (or Level 2 coaching with ambition to undertake Level 3) Experienced in coaching in a performance development environment PVG Scheme Membership & up to date Wellbeing and Protection training Willing to be a member of Scottish Swimming Willing to sign and adhere to the Coach’s Code of Conduct Expected time commitment Our Performance Squads train c 16 hours per week and the Head Coach will be expected to cover these sessions. In addition, support for swimmers at galas is expected and time outside of the pool will be required to develop training programmes and attend meetings as required. Finally, it is expected that to successfully deliver this service administration time is required to ensure proper planning and preparation. Proposal Carnegie Swimming Club welcome proposals/tenders from appropriate individuals to help us to deliver an effective swimmer development programme which addresses the key tasks outlined above.
