Posted: 08 August 2019 Level 2 Swimming Instructor Organisation: Swimming Masters Location: Glasgow and/or East Kilbride Job Type: Part-Time Hours: 10-15 hours per week Salary: £13 + DOE Closing date: 30 October 2019 Interview date: 13 August 2019 Apply Role - To teach one to one lessons for swimmers from 3 years old as well as adults of all ages and abilities to develop confidence in the water, swimming skills and technique. - Enthusiastic and very positive attitude towards swimming. - Great communicator. - The ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers. - Perseverance and great patience. - The ability to encourage swimmers and put them at ease. - An understanding how to differentiate for each lesson. - Ideally the candidate will hold a valid National Reach Rescue Award / Pool Attendant Qualification or National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, although not essential. - Always professional, punctual and well organised person responsible for the implementation, development and organisation of swimming classes. - Flexibility to work weekdays and/ evenings. - Being able to teach in both Glasgow and East Kilbride venues. - Level 2 Teaching Aquatics. - At least one year experience. - Hold an up-to-date Disclosure Scotland Certificate. - Participate in shadowing our lessons as training. Main Duties - To ensure the safety of all swimmers. - To ensure you deliver a structured lesson that follows our learn to swim programme. - Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used properly. - Identify participants' abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential. - Deliver a lesson appropriate to the level of the swimmer. - Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques. - Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance. - To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming. - Evaluate and give feedback at the end of every class. - At the end of each month assess each swimmer's ability and progress and award the appropriate certificate. - To attend regular meetings with Swimming Masters Executive Officer's. - To agree to abide by a code of conduct and carry out duties including equal opportunities, safeguarding children and health and safety at work.
