Making Waves is Scotland's largest independent swimming school. Over the last 25 years, we've developed an innovative programme that teaches children how to swim with confidence.

We are currently recruiting for 1 x full time swim coordinator or 2 x part time swim coordinators.  This is an exciting opportunity for individual (s) to be a part of an expanding and growing swim company.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Swim Coordinators will be responsible for the coordination of swimming lessons across a variety of venues within Glasgow and South Lanarkshire. 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • UKCC L2 teaching Aquatics or ASA Swimming Teacher
  • Eligible for PVG scheme
  • NPLQ
  • Current Driving license

DESIRABLE

  • Trainer/Assessor qualified
  • UKCC tutor trained
  • UKCC Assessor trained

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • an interest in swimming
  • good communication skills
  • the ability to inspire confidence and motivate others
  • good organisational skills
  • the ability to encourage people and put them at ease
  • Flexibility to work at other venues

 

MAIN DUTIES

Poolside

  • Set up/take down equipment where required
  • Ensure regular, relevant communication and feedback with customers and MW staff
  • Lead staff development and delivery of the learn to swim programme
  • Appoint teaching staff to venues

Office

  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with swim coordinators/MW staff
  • Have knowledge and understanding of recruitment and selection policies
  • Actively seek training and development opportunities for MW staff to ensure continued personal development
  • Implement appraisal schemes for all staff
  • Respond to emails, telephone calls and customer enquiries
  • Have some knowledge of working data bases
