Coaching would mainly be over 3 nights Salary: £10/hour Closing date: 06 August 2018 Duration: permanent on completition of 3 month trial period Apply North Ayrshire ASC is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Club Coach to work predominantly with our development swimmers but with the flexibility to cover all our squads as directed by the Head Coach. Gala attendance would also be required. North Ayrshire Amateur Swimming Club, based in Largs, Garnock, Irvine and Stevenston, is seeking a Level 2 qualified coach. North Ayrshire ASC is a friendly but competitive focused club. We are an ambitious club who are currently undergoing a period of expansion at all levels, from our development programme to our performance squads. We are seeking an enthusiastic “club” coach to work predominantly poolside which may include all squads (development 7 – 10 years, junior and to senior performance (includes head coach cover where necessary)). Guidance and set weekly pool attendance will be set by the head coach who will be the direct report. This will have the remit and an emphasis on coaching and developing current and future District and National level swimmers. The opportunity exists for a more experienced candidate to take on additional responsibility within the club with vision and swim cycle planning. Our vision is to equip our swimmers to achieve their full potential, and we believe the best way to achieve this is to support our coaches in their own development so that our swimmers gain the best possible coaching. North Ayrshire ASC has an excellent record of investing in training and several of our coaches have progressed to coaching at elite level. The successful candidate will be supported in achieving additional qualifications and will benefit from working alongside a number of experienced coaches. The successful candidate will: Hold an ASA Level 2 coaching qualification (anyone holding a Level 1 Teaching/Coaching qualification wishing to progress on to do their Level 2 may also apply) Have experience of working with swimmers at all ages, where 7-10 years experience would be beneficial Be able to work well within our dedicated coaching team Flexibility and assist/cover necessary sessions of head coach and other volunteer coaches Gala attendance where required by head coach Attend a minimum of set poolside sessions per week as part of core remit Have excellent interpersonal skills Have a passion to improve the quality of swimming within the club Have a good working knowledge of long term athlete development Be proactive in attending continuing professional development courses Be eligible to work in the UK Undergo an enhanced PVG disclosure Proactive with recruitment from learn to swim, schools and local clubs Hold a current Safeguarding and Protecting Children qualification (if not, training in child protection and safeguarding must be undertaken) We can offer the successful candidate: A role in a Scottish Swimming affiliated, SwimMark+ accredited club A passionate and committed team of coaches and volunteers An opportunity to continue progressing your professional development A salary commensurate with qualifications and experience Guaranteed minimum work hours per week Additional hours (standard rate) available at head coach discretion Gala attendance set payment per session Set holiday periods Summer/Christmas For further information please contact Margaret Anne Dickson on firstname.lastname@example.org.
