Club office is at the On-x, Linwood. The successful applicant would mostly be coaching at Neilston and Barrhead. The Club currently has in excess of 300 Members starting from Development Squads through to Transitional and Top Squads and Masters. OUTLINE The successful applicant will be responsible for coaching our transitional squad (TE) swimmers for 18 hours per week. This group is the first stage of the advanced training programme and is viewed as a stepping-stone in the development of swimmers to compete with distinction at a senior level. The age range of swimmers within this squad will normally be from 11 to 14 years of age. Depending on availability of the successful candidate, the role can also include coaching a squad of swimmers working towards inclusion in the transitional squad. QUALIFICATIONS: UKCC Level 3 coaching qualification (or equivalent), consideration will also be given to those holding a Level 2 and working towards Level 3 National Pool Lifeguard Qualification SKILLS REQUIRED: The ability to motivate and inspire swimmers to achieve their potential Excellence in coaching skills and the ability to lead and mentor junior colleagues The ability to communicate clearly to all (swimmers, parents, committee etc.) A willingness to attend weekend events to support all the swimmers Sound planning and administration skills MAIN DUTIES: 1) Delivering, monitoring and helping to update the swimming programme for designated squads to ensure that the agreed programme is delivered 2) Monitoring the supervision and training of junior coaches 3) Working with the head coach, swimmers and parents to identify appropriate levels, events and numbers of competition entries for swimmers in designated squads 4) Responsible for developing swimmers to the point of promotion to the ‘top squad’ 5) Providing appropriate feedback to swimmers and parents APPLICATIONS For further information, or to send an application with CV cover letter and references, [referees will only be contacted if the application is successful] send by email to: Sandy Blackwood, Head Coach at email@example.com Closing date for applications is 20th January 2016.
