Posted: 21 June 2018 REN96 Swim Team - Performance Swim Coach Organisation: REN96 Location: Renfrew and East Renfrewshire Job Type: Part-time Hours: Approximately 16 hours per week plus competitions Salary: Competitive hourly rate Closing date: 22 July 2018 REN 96 Swim Team is Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire competitive swimming club. We are a competitive, non profit-making swimming club of approximately 350 members. The club provides comprehensive programmes in both high performance competitive swimming and non-competitive training, catering for swimmers of all ages and abilities. REN96 is focused on the performance of young swimmers and providing a route that enables swimmers to reach their full potential. We also provide different training zones that cater for swimmers from entry-level through to those competing at National, British and International level. We are currently seeking to appoint a number of coaches to assist with the development of our young swimmers. This role presents an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is seeking to further his or her own coaching experience. The emphasis will be on coaching technique and endurance while encouraging an environment of high performance and self belief. Key responsibilities: Plan and deliver, in conjunction with the other coaches, a co-ordinated training programme for all swimmers to assist them in achieving their full potential Attend to administrative tasks required for the efficient running of the squad Work positively with other members of the coaching team Develop a positive working relationship with the swimmers and their parents, feeding back on progress and ensuring effective communication Attend and contribute to coaching meetings as required Requirements: UKCC Level 3 or Level 2 working towards a level 3 qualification minimum (or equivalent), and able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of the principles of long term athlete development Ambitious, enthusiastic and highly motivated with a minimum of two years experience of coaching at Age group level or above Ability to work flexible hours to include early morning, evening and weekend training sessions as well as competitions Willing and able to work effectively with a large coaching and administration team and to develop positive relationships Complete an enhanced Disclosure Scotland check (PVG requirement) Abide by and promote sound ethics, Club policies and Scottish Swimming policies, in particular with regard to child protection, fair play and equal opportunities to all members Sign and adhere to the Coach’s Code of Conduct and self employment contract Attend appropriate training The club will consider supporting further training opportunities for coaches.
