RBASC is a family friendly, competitive swimming club with swimmers ranging from age 7 to 18. We pride ourselves on supporting the development of swimmers to achieve their individual potential and aspirations. The Club competes at all levels from friendly, graded and development levels through to District level. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development of the swimmers and coaches in the club, providing a vision, leadership and expertise for ongoing improvement in all areas. Lead the club in creating a positive and effective daily training environment, focused on producing young people embracing the sport, capable of completing and achieving on all levels. Lead the club in the planning of the competition calendar., ensuring the support and attendance of swimmers. Attendance at appropriate competitions. Be proactive in attending continuing professional development opportunities provided by Scottish Swimming. Provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to the volunteer coaching staff. Plan, lead and organise coaching meetings as required. Develop positive working relationships with swimmers, parents, club management and partners. Attend committee meetings and provide feedback to the club committee on progress of swimmer and coach development. Candidate Specification Have a passion to improve the quality of swimming and swimmer experience at RBASC. Extensive experience of working with swimmers of all ages and stages of development. Experience of mentoring and leading the development of coaches within a club programme. Experience in creating and delivering a club development plan. Excellent interpersonal skills and to be able to work positively and productively within a dedicated coaching team and committee. Hold a level 3 (preferred) / level 2 (essential) qualification. Hold a current Safeguarding & Protective Children qualification (if not, training in child protection and safeguarding must be undertaken). Complete an enhancing Disclosure Scotland check (PVG requirement) Be eligible to work in the UK. Abide by and provide sound ethics, RBASC club policies and Scottish Swimming policies in particular with regard to child protection, fair play and equal opportunities to all members.
