Scottish Swimming is looking to recruit an Honorary Medical Adviser to advise and work with Scottish Swimming to provide up to date guidance to the sport on medical/anti-doping matters and medical support to the National Programme and events.

Part of this role is to represent Scottish Swimming at British Swimming Medical Panel meetings providing feedback to the organisation on any relevant medical/anti-doping developments in the sport.  All applicants need to be a registered Doctor with experience and a postgraduate certificate (e.g. diploma or msc) in sports medicine.  A keen interest in sport is essential.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will be responsible for:

  • Attending 2 meetings per year held in Loughborough
  • Collating all the information and emailing a report to be passed to Board and Council
  • Recommending any action that the Association needs to consider
  • Work with the performance team to provide cover at national events and camps and to provide support to athletes.

As these meetings are held on a Sunday applicants need to have the flexibility to work at the weekends.

This is a voluntary position; however, expenses for travel and accommodation will be met by Scottish Swimming at the standard volunteer rate.
