Posted: 13 March 2020 Scottish Water Polo Chair Organisation: Scottish Water Polo Job Type: Chair - Voluntary position Closing date: 12 May 2020 Apply Scottish Water Polo requires a volunteer for the role of Chairperson to take Scottish Water Polo forward. The Chairperson is responsible for the promotion and running of Water Polo in Scotland, and in support of Great Britain Water Polo. This responsibility is delivered through the Scottish Water Polo Committee (SWPC), which is comprised of the following roles: Finance Manager Event Co-ordinator Technical Officials Co-ordinator Club Representatives With the following roles currently co-opted National Teams Manager Vice-Chair Other roles may be co-opted as identified and required. SWPC Responsibilities Chair SWPC meetings Prepare communications for SWP The following are an indictive list of responsibilities of the SWPC: Planning and implementing national events. Selecting national squads and national squad training, as appropriate. Calendar planning of events. Producing and monitoring the implementing of a development plan. Producing and monitoring, in line with the development plan, an annual budget Maintaining regulations Communication Support Discipline Committees as required The position also works closely with the professional staff at Scottish Swimming. Reporting: The Chairperson is an Executive post on the Scottish Water Polo Committee. The role reports to the CEO Scottish Swimming through the Director of Development. The role is also beholden to the Scottish Water Polo clubs, who comprise Scottish Water Polo Competencies: The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate leadership skills to set a direction to take Scottish Water Polo forward. Experienced in running an amateur sports club or a small business would be very beneficial. An understanding of the operation of Scottish Water Polo within the wider context of Scottish Swimming, British Swimming and the European and Worldwide governing bodies, would be very beneficial.
