Posted: 13 March 2020 Scottish Water Polo Finance Manager Organisation: Scottish Water Polo Job Type: Finance Manager - Voluntary position Hours: approximately 3 hours/week Closing date: 12 May 2020 Apply Scottish Water Polo requires a volunteer for the role of Finance Manager. Scottish Water Polo receives funding from Scottish Swimming and is self funded by the clubs, athletes and administrators. The activities that are funded include: Girls national squad Boys national squad Women’s national squad Men’s national squad Domestic Competitions The financial year runs to 31st March, so we are approaching the beginning of the new 2020/21 financial year. This role would be suitable for someone with book-keeping skills but it is not necessary to be a qualified CA. A handover period with the current post holder is possible as well as ongoing assistance/ advice as required. The time commitment is estimated at 3 hours /week. Role Description: The Finance Manager is an Executive post on the Scottish Water Polo Committee. The Finance Manager will work across all the areas of Scottish Water Polo and work closely with Scottish Swimming finance department. At a high level this person will: Manage the funding allocated by Scottish Swimming, £15k Provide ongoing budgeting and forecasting in respect of each financial year Approve invoices for payment to cover, amongst other things: pool hire, referee expenses, equipment purchases Direct the “nominal code” budget holders on their reconciliation & consolidation of debit and credits Manage the collection and reconciliation of league fees Provide a monthly report to the SWP Committee Prepare annual consolidated finance report including management of accruals Reportin: The role reports to the Chair of Scottish Water Polo. SWPC Responsibilities: Attend SWPC meetings Prepare monthly reports for the SWPC Competencies: The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent financial management skills, specifically experience in book-keeping for a similar sized organisation, it is not necessary to be a Qualified CA although that would be very beneficial.
