Have fun contributing to our mission to get children active About the role As part of the Kings Camps team, the Swimming Teacher is responsible for the planning, preparation and delivery of all swimming sessions for children aged between 5 and 17. Swimming Teachers are responsible for imparting swimming skills and knowledge to groups of up to 20 children (ratios vary dependent on child ages), whilst also acting as the qualified lifeguard on poolside. The Kings Camps swimming programme includes a prescribed range of swimming activities as well as fun games and themed sessions What makes a great Swimming Teacher? Possess ASA Level 2 Teaching Aquatics or the STA Level 2 Certificate in Swimming Teaching. Possess a current Lifeguard qualification from one of the following: National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC) STA Safety Award for Teachers Qualification Experience of working with children aged 5-17 in a swimming coaching/teaching setting Great leadership and organisational skills A vibrant, fun and confident personality A team player with a willingness to adapt About us Kings Camps are a market leading non-profit organisation offering sports and activity day camps at over 50 UK locations, getting children and young people active, having fun and learning together, Founded in 1991, we were inspired by US-style summer camps.
