Volunteer Coach

Job Type:
1-2 hours per week
Voluntary but club will sponsor candidates to obtain relevant qualifications if required
Closing date:

Based in Nairn, NDASC is a swiMark plus accredited club with around 70 members at present. Our vision is to inspire a life-long love of swimming and to build a programme of excellence in training, team unity, character development and support, allowing swimmers and coaches the opportunity to achieve their potential. We coach children joining the club from the Learn to Swim programme and progressing through to District /National level, working in collaboration with the Highland Swim Team; Performance Swim Team for the Scottish Highlands for our competitive swimmers. We also have a number of non-competitive swimmers who swim for fitness and a small active masters group. We are looking to add some swimming enthusiasts to our friendly coaching team to ensure we have appropriate cover in all eventualities. Ideally we would like to hear from candidates with Level 1/Level 2 teaching/coaching qualifications, able to give us one to two hours of their time occasionally or every week. We are, however, happy to invest in appropriate courses to allow committed individuals to gain relevant qualifications. Candidates must be approachable, with the ability to motivate and be able to work positively with the current coaching staff. The successful candidate(s) will be subject to a PVG and enhanced disclose and have to sign up to the clubs Coach Code of Conduct. The candidate(s) will be expected to complete the Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop and appropriate CPD. Applicants should email noting their interest in joining our team by 31st October 2019.
