This new and exciting role will look to ensure that volunteers that underpin East District activities are fully supported with the wide variety of roles that they undertake across all disciplines. Role Purpose The post holder will maintain a register of volunteer roles within Scottish Swimming East District, identifying vacancies and overseeing the recruitment, support, training and recognition of the volunteers fulfilling these roles. This includes roles within the District and Regions, including Technical Officials and covers all disciplines. Club volunteer positions are not covered by this role. Main Functions and Duties Identify volunteer roles within the District and Regions, ensuring that each role has a role description Maintain a register of volunteers, ensuring that they are members of Scottish Swimming Maintain a prospect list of potential volunteers Ensure that volunteers receive adequate training for the role Act as a contact point for volunteers Liaise with the District Executive, Committee Chairs, event organisers and others who are responsible for the deployment of volunteers Obtain feedback from volunteers and develop a programme to improve the volunteer experience where required Develop a support and recognition scheme for District volunteers Ensure that volunteers have signed up to the Scottish Swimming volunteers’ code of conduct. Note that the role does not cover the direct management of volunteers in the roles they undertake.
