DAVID CARRY was predominantly a middle distance Freestyler who represented Great Britain at three Olympics and Scotland at three Commonwealth Games.  His best Olympic performances were a 7th place finish in the 400m Freestyle in London, and he was a part of the 4x200m Freestyle Relay team in Athens, Beijing and London.

It was at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne where he starred, in what was a spectacular Games for the Scottish team, with Gold Medals in 400m Freestyle and 400m Individual Medley (the latter a Scotland 1-2, with Euan Dale taking Silver).He was also the lead off swimmer in the Scottish 4x200m Men’s Freestyle team that missed out on Gold to England by a whisker.  In 2010 at Delhi he took Bronze in 400m Freestyle and was again an important member of the Scottish Silver medal earning 4x200m Freestyle team. David was always an inspirational member of the National team, whether representing Scotland or Great Britain. Since his retirement in 2012 he has maintained his swimming involvement and is currently a Board Member for Scottish Swimming.
