Alan McClatchey Date Of Birth: 16 September 1956 Place Of Birth: Edinburgh, Scotland Discipline: Swimming (Freestyle & IM) Inducted to Hall of Fame: 2014 ALAN McCLATCHEY represented both Scotland and GB at a large number of International competitions during the mid and late 1970s up until 1980. These included 2 Commonwealth Games, 1974 in Auckland and 1978 in Edmonton. In 1975, he represented Great Britain at the World Championships in Cali, Columbia, winning a Silver medal in the 4x200m Freestyle. In 1976, representing Great Britain at the Olympic Games in Montreal, he won a Bronze medal in the 4x200m Freestyle. He set Scottish Records over the 200m Freestyle and also 400m IM. He represented Great Britain at the 1977 World University Games in Mexico. He went on to qualify as a Doctor of Medicine and now practices as a GP. His niece is double Commonwealth Champion and fellow Scottish Swimming Hall of Fame inductee Caitlin McClatchey.
