Kris Gilchrist Date Of Birth: 03 December 1983 Place Of Birth: Edinburgh, Scotland Discipline: Swimming (breaststroke) Inducted to Hall of Fame: 2014 KRIS GILCHRIST's first podium place in international competition came in 2006 at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne as part of the Bronze medal winning 4 x 100m Medley relay team, having come 4th in the 200m Breaststroke. Later that year he was selected for the British Team for the European Championships in Budapest and won a Bronze Medal in 200m Breaststroke.The World Short Course Championships in 2008 was the big breakthrough and Kris claimed the World Title in 200m Breaststroke. Further British representative honours followed with selection for World, European Championships, Olympic Games 2008 and Commonwealth Games in 2010. Kris retired from Competitive swimming in 212 and is now currently a Coach at Warrender Baths Club in Edinburgh.
