NEIL COCHRAN was born in Torphins, Aberdeenshire, Neil started his international career at the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, unfortunately coming home empty handed, however he won Bronze in the 200m I.M four years later on home turf at the 1986 Edinburgh Commonwealth Games.

In addition to his Commonwealth wins Neil also claimed two Gold medals at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles in the 200m I.M and the 4x200m relay. He is also noted for winning Gold in the 200m I.M at the World Student Games in 1985 and winning Silver at the European Championships in 1987 as part of the British team.

Neil ended his career in 1988 after the Seoul Olympic Games to concentrate in a career in engineering.
