SCOTT QUIN has shown himself to be one of the strongest S14 swimmers in the country having won medals at the World and European Championships and will be aiming to secure his place at his first Paralympic Games this summer.

The Warrender Baths based swimmer Quin won a silver medal in the SB14 100m Breaststroke in front of a home crowd at the IPC Swimming World Championships in Glasgow. Quin also narrowly missed out on a second final spot in the SM14 200m Individual Medley, finishing 12th overall.

Quin also sealed himself a silver a year earlier in the same event at the European Champs in Berlin and smashed his own British record in the process. An improvement on the performance at the British Para-Swimming International Meet earlier in the year.

In 2013 Quin upgraded to MC 100m Breaststroke gold at the British Swimming Championships to earn himself a spot at his first IPC Swimming World Championships in Montreal where he reached the final and finished fifth in the same event.

Competing against his European SB14 100m Breaststroke rivals, Quin finished fifth again in Germany in 2011 but his first taste of international competition inspired him to keep improving and he landed his first British medal in 2012 with MC 100m Breaststroke bronze at the London Aquatics Centre.

Breaststroke specialist Scott Quin’s initial breakthrough came in 2011, finishing fifth in the MC 100m Breaststroke at the British Swimming Championships in Manchester and earning himself a spot on his first international team.
