STEPHEN MILNE is one of the country's top distance Freestylers and has reached the final of both the 800m and 1500m Freestyle at the World Championships as well as winning silver at the Commonwealth Games in the 4x200m Freestyle Relay.

A debut World Championship appearance for Perth City based swimmer Milne saw him secure two final berths in the 800m and 1500m Freestyle, finishing seventh and fifth respectively. Earlier in the season Milne took the British title for the 1500m Freestyle event in London.

He made light work of the transition to the senior international stage in 2014, reaching five individual finals across the Commonwealth Games and European Championships respectively.

While he won 4x200m Freestyle silver with the Scottish team at Glasgow 2014, his fastest performances were at the Europeans in Berlin where he finished fourth over 800m and 1500m Freestyle, setting national records in both and ducking under 15 minutes for the first time in the latter.

Milne’s first senior British medal came in 2013, following on from a sixth place in the 400m Freestyle with bronze over 1500m Free behind Daniel Fogg and Jack Burnell

He competed at the 2012 European Junior Championships in Antwerp, finishing eighth over 200m Freestyle and narrowly missing out on a medal as the 4x200m Freestyle Relay quartet – which also featured James Guy – finished fourth.
