Scottish National Open Water Championships

The Scottish National Open Water Championships have for the past two years taken place in Loch Venachar in the beautiful surroundings of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.  Loch Venachar Sailing Club provide a base for our competition, with the event taking place over two days every summer.

Competitors of all ages take part in 2km and 5km events, along with a 4x500m relay event.  We also have a 10km open swim which is an excellent endurance event for our athletes. Children can take part from swimming-age twelve, in our 1km race, and we also have a 1km race for novices to see what all the fuss is about by swimming in lochs!

Our Open Water Championships show that swimming doesn't have to be in a pool to be safe and fun. But be warned, it is highly addictive!
