About Disability Swimming

As national governing body in aquatics Scottish Swimming is committed to working closely with Scottish Disability Sport in providing suitable daily training environments as well as appropriate competitive opportunities for Scottish swimmers with a disability.

From a grass roots level, where the focus is on participation and inclusion, to the elite end of the sport, where swimmers target medal glory, swimming truly is an inclusive sport. There are plenty of opportunities at a local level for people with a disability to get involved and a seamless pathway to help reach their potential.

Through utilising the Sports Inclusion Model, we work with our member clubs and partners to offer the best training environments for those interested in the competitive pathway. Once training on a regular basis we can support swimmers to get classified and target appropriate competitions to hone race skills.
