Cassie Wild

Current Coach: Steven Tigg

CASSIE WILD is an up-and-coming talent in Scottish swimming, only turning 17 in the summer of 2017, and she's already making an impact on the world stage.

She was selected to Team Scotland for the 2018 Commonwealth Games and reached the final of the 50m Backstroke where she finished fifth overall.

Cassie then made the progression to competing for GBR at the 2018 European Championships in Glasgow, taking part in the 50m Backstroke and 100m Backstroke but unfortunately she did not progress to the final.

Her maiden appearance at the World Junior Championships yielded two finals berths in the 50m Backstroke and 100m Backstroke, finishing 6th and 7th respectively.

At the British Championships in 2017 she claimed top spot in the Junior 100m Backstroke event, improving from Silver in the previous year at home in Glasgow.

At the highest level in Scotland at the National Championships she took Bronze in her favoured event, the 100m Backstroke, and also placed 4th and 9th in the 50m and 200m races for the same style.

#ILearnedtoSwim with Cassie Wild

"Swimming was my local to me and I enjoyed learning to swim. My earliest memory is jumping to the bottom of the pool to pick up bricks and swimming through hoops like a mini obstacle course, the first few lessons I just sat on the steps because I didn’t want to get it but once I got in I loved it! My first club was City of Chester."
