Date Of Birth: 24 February 1995
Place Of Birth: Edinburgh
Current Coach: Ian Wright

CAMILLA HATTERSLEY, of Perth City Swim Club, is proving to be a tough competitor in distance events both in the pool as well as at open water championships. Camilla still holds the 17 years age group record for 1500m while in October 2013 she won Silver in the 10km at the 9th Cyprus International Swimming Marathon. This competitive nature booked her a ticket on the plane to Rio where she competed for Team GB at Rio 2016 in the 800m Freestyle and was part of the gorup that just missed out on a lane in the final for the 4x200m Freestyle Relay.

On the European stage she finished joint 7th in the 400m Freestyle final at the 2016 European Championships, and on home soil at the Commonwealth Games in 2014 she swam to the final of the 800m Freestyle, finishing 7th.

At the 2016 British Championships, Camilla won a Silver medal in the 800m Freestyle event, an improvement on the previous year when she took Bronze in the same event.

If training wasn't hard and time consuming enough, away from swimming Camilla studied Aeronautical Engineering at Glasgow University and was a student at Perth Academy.

"I started swimming because I enjoyed it and wanted to keep doing it after I finished lessons. I also had friends in the swimming club. My earliest memory is of being terrified of the deep end at George Heriot's, but I got over it! My first club was Perth City Swim Club."
