KATHLEEN DAWSON came of age at the 2013 European Junior Championships where she enjoyed Silver medal success. Since then she has represented her home country at the Commonwealth Games, an extra special occasion with it being in Scotland. She swam to the final and finished fifth and is on the plane to the Gold Coast for 2018.

Kathleen is steadily making an impact on the world stage, with a seventh and an eighth place finish at the 2017 World Championships in Budapest, in the 100m Backstroke and 4x100m Medley Relay respectively. This followed a Bronze and a Gold in the European Championships the previous year in the 100m Backstroke and 4x100m Medley Relay events.

Kathleen holds the Scottish record for 50m, 100m and 200m Backstroke.

"I learned to swim at the Great Sankey Swimming Baths in Warrington and my first club was Warriors of Warrington Swimming Club. I joined when I mnoved on from council lessons which went on in the same pool. My earliest memory believe it or not is not being able to read the clock!"
