LUCY HOPE was a member of the relay squad for Glasgow 2014 that reached the final and finished fifth. Once again she was a valuable part of Team Scotland for Gold Coast 2018, making the ifnals of two individual events and being part of the 4x200m Freestyle and 4x100m Medley relay teams that made the final, the latter of which set a new Scottish Record.

Lucy was chosen to represent GB on home soil at the Glasgow 2018 European Championships and her highlight was swimming in the heats for the 4x200m Freestyle Relay team that went on to win Gold.

After representing her country at her home games, Lucy travelled to Taipei for the 2017 World University Games, narrowly missing out on a medal in the 4x100m and 4x200m Freestyle team events.

Back on home soil, Lucy has medalled at the British Championships (2017, Bronze x2) and Scottish National Championships (2014, Silver x2).

Lucy had her breakthrough year in 2013 where she enjoyed medal success at the European Junior Swimming Championships. Lucy studies and races for the University of Edniburgh; she is originally from Jedburgh and was part of the Borders Elite Swim Team.

"I learned to swim at Kelso Swimming Pool and my first club was Kelso Swimming Club. I joined because my mum encouraged me to and I'm glad she did."
