Applicants must demonstrate coaching activity within six months of applying for the subsidy (minimum activity supported will be once per month or an average of 12 sessions per year) The course being attended must take place in Scotland and be registered with the SQA (your course organiser can confirm this) Applicants should evidence what impact this qualification will have on their school, club or community. (This should be detailed in the Applicant Support Information section of the application form) Check with your club/ school/ community group that they are happy to support your application as you must supply their contact details and this will be verified. How do I apply? HOW TO APPLY; Scottish Swimming Teacher Qualificaiton (SSTQ): SSTQ candidates must apply for funding directly to Scottish Swimming by submitting a SSTQ Subsidy form to firstname.lastname@example.org. This must be done prior to the first day of the course and candidates must have completed SwimRight (Mandatory pre-course element) before submitting the subsidy form to Scottish Swimming. If approved, subsidy payments will be issued in line with the sportscotland quarterly payment dates following succesful course completion. Please send any queries to email@example.com CLICK HERE TO APPLY HOW TO APPLY; UKCC Level 1 & 2: Teachers and Coaches can now apply for funding using Sport Scotland's online application portal. They will first need to register their details with Sport Scotland before logging onto the system and navigating through the application form. CLICK HERE TO APPLY HOW TO APPLY; UKCC Level 3: Applications for funding must be made initially to Scottish Swimming who will complete the SGB section of the form before forwarding on to SportScotland for processing. Sport Scotland require subsidy application at least four weeks prior to the start of the course; retrospective applications will not be accepted. Please ensure when you submit your subsidy application to Scottish Swimming in the first instance that you allow at least 5 working days for processing and submission to Sport Scotland. Subsidy Changes: Sport Scotland have advised that there will be changes to the UKCC Subsidy allowance as of the 1st July 2017. The changes are as follows: UKCC Level 1 grant aid to be 40% of total cost or £75 whichever is the lowest UKCC Level 2 grant aid to be 60% of total cost or £350 whichever is the lowest UKCC Level 3/4 grant aid bands to be 60%: 40%:20% or zero with same eligibility criteria being continued HOW MUCH CAN I RECEIVE? (Please note allocations will change on the 1st July as outlined above) UKCC Level 1 40% with a maximum value of £100 - applications to be made directly to Sport Scotland UKCC Level 2 70% with a maximum value of £400 - applications to be made directly to Sport Scotland UKCC Level 3 - sportscotland will support a variable scale of 25%, 50% or 75% of the candidate course fee at UKCC Level 3. Subsidy will be allocated per candidate, against SGB endorsed applications and based on the funding principles and coach support criteria being met. Has my funding been approved? Once SportScotland receive your application they will check you meet the eligibility criteria and give you an electronic decision within 10 working days of receipt of your application. Once approved, candidates will receive a Funding Confirmation letter/ email detailing how much funding has been allocated. This confirmation has a unique reference number and is required when claiming your funding. If I am successful, what happens next? Once SportScoltand has approved funding, candidates should forward the confirmation email to firstname.lastname@example.org along with a copy of our Subsidy payment form (available on our website). How do I claim my funding after application approval? To claim UKCC Level 1 subsidy, candidates must meet the following criteria following course completion: * Current Members of Scottish Swimming * Complete no less than 90% course attendance * Provide a copy of SportScotland funding confirmation letter/ email * Completion of Scottish Swimming Subsidy Payment Form To qualify for UKCC Level 2 subsidy, candidates must meet the following criteria following course completion: * Current member of Scottish Swimming * Complete no less than 90% course attendance * Tutor/ Assessor confirmation of Unit 6 assessment - not dependant upon result * Provide a copy of SportScoltand funding confirmation letter/ email * Completion of Scottish Swimming Subsidy Payment Form When will I receive my funding? Following course completion Scottish Swimming will carry out final checks for all subsidy applications. Once the Scottish Swimming office has evidence of all required application criteria we can issue payment in line with SportScotland's set payment dates. Please see criteria deadline dates and corresponding payment dates below: Criteria met by Payment Date (as provided by SportScotland) 15th June 31st July 14th September 31st October 7th December 31st January 15th March 30th April The above payment dates are set by SportScotland and as such Scottish Swimming are unable to deviate from these.
