All coaching subsidy applications must be submitted directly to SportScotland. Applicants must demonstrate coaching activity within six months of applying for the subsidy (minimum activity supported will be once per month or an average of 12 sessions per year) The course being attended must take place in Scotland and be registered with the SQA (your course organiser can confirm this) Applicants should evidence what impact this qualification will have on their school, club or community. (This should be detailed in the Applicant Support Information section of the application form) Check with your club/ school/ community group that they are happy to support your application as you must supply their contact details and this will be verified. How do I apply? HOW TO APPLY; Scottish Swimming Teacher Qualificaiton (SSTQ): SSTQ candidates must apply for funding directly to Scottish Swimming by submitting a SSTQ Subsidy form to subsidy@scottishswimming.com. This must be done prior to the first day of the course and candidates must have completed SwimRight (Mandatory pre-course element) before submitting the subsidy form to Scottish Swimming. If approved, subsidy payments will be issued in line with the sportscotland quarterly payment dates following course start date. Please send any queries to subsidy@scottishswimming.com CLICK HERE TO APPLY HOW TO APPLY; Coaching Coaches can now apply for funding using Sport Scotland's online application portal. They will first need to register their details with Sport Scotland before logging onto the system and navigating through the application form. CLICK HERE TO APPLY HOW TO APPLY; Level 3: Applications for funding must be made initially to Scottish Swimming who will complete the SGB section of the form before forwarding on to SportScotland for processing. Sport Scotland require subsidy application at least four weeks prior to the start of the course; retrospective applications will not be accepted. Please ensure when you submit your subsidy application to Scottish Swimming in the first instance that you allow at least 5 working days for processing and submission to Sport Scotland. HOW MUCH CAN I RECEIVE? Level 1 grant aid to be 40% of total cost or £75 whichever is the lowest Level 2 grant aid to be 60% of total cost or £350 whichever is the lowest Level 3/4 grant aid bands to be 60%: 40%:20% or zero with same eligibility criteria being continued Has my funding been approved? Once SportScotland receive your application they will check you meet the eligibility criteria and give you an electronic decision within 10 working days of receipt of your application. Once approved, candidates will receive a Funding Confirmation letter/ email detailing how much funding has been allocated. This confirmation has a unique reference number and is required when claiming your funding. If I am successful, what happens next? Once SportScoltand has approved funding, candidates subsidy@scottishswimming.com along with a copy of our Subsidy payment form (available on our website). How do I claim my funding after application approval? To qualify and claim Coaching subsidy, candidates must hold current Scottish Swimming membership and submit a completed subsidy payment form to subsidy@scottishswimming.com along with a copy of the SportScotland funding confirmation email. To qualify and claim SSTQ subsidy, candidates must hold current Scottish Swimming membership and submit a completed subsidy payment form to subsidy@scottishswimming.com before the chosen course start date. Subsidy Payments are issued in line with SportScotland quarterly payment dates following the chosen course start date. When will I receive my funding? Following the chosen course start date, Scottish Swimming and SportScotland will carry out final checks for all subsidy applications. Once Scottish Swimming and SportScoltand have evidence of all required application criteria we can issue payment.
