We will be holding a Diving Conference on the 15th and 16th September 2015

The programme for the two days is outlined below and the cost is £40 for the two days. The inaugural Scottish diving conference will take place at the Royal Commonwealth Pool, Edinburgh. The aim of the conference is to develop the technical knowledge of the sport of diving. Specifically focusing on dryland preparation, how to progress divers through lessons and/or Talent identification programmes, working in a small programme and creating success, and learning from the three individual speakers personal experiences in coaching.

The price has been agreed at £40 per head that won’t include lunch, there is a café at the RCP.  There will be tea and coffee on offer in the morning.

Two Guest Speakers will be presenting at the Conference, Barry Collie(Head Coach and Diving Manager at National Aquatic Centre Dublin and Swim Ireland National Diving Coach), Tom Owens (Head Coach of the Amateur Swimming Associations, England National Talent programme and ex-diver) and World medallist - Damian Ball.  


Tuesday 15th September

9am – 10am – Creating Elite Environment; My Philosophy – Barry Collie

10-10.15am - Break

10.15-12 – Physical preparation – Barry Collie

12-1pm – Lunch break

1-2pm – Planning – Barry Collie

2-2.15pm - Break

2.15-4pm – Pool Practical session – The importance of attention to detail - Tom Owens


Wednesday 16th September

8.45-9am Coffee & Teas

9-11.30am – The Handstand – Barry Collie

11.30-1pm - Identifying and developing talent in Diving – Tom Owens

1-2pm – Lunch Break

2-4pm – Creating Jack Laugher – small programme + careful planning & preparation= World medallist - Damian Ball
