Outline:

This is the first step towards becoming a swimming teacher / coach and is designed to introduce candidates to the basic principles of teaching/ coaching.

This course leads to a vocational qualification designed to provide you with an introduction to the knowledge, skills and understanding of the safe and ethical principles for effective teaching/ coaching practices in aquatics.

Once qualified the holder of the Level 1 Certificate for Teaching Aquatics/ Coaching Swimming is able to actively support a more senior qualified / licensed aquatic teacher or coach at any level, in the delivery of a pre-prepared session. This person will be expected to have an understanding of the aquatic and a basic understanding of appropriate correction to common aquatic faults.

This qualification is endorsed by UKCC and sits on the Scottish Qualifications and Credit Framework (SQCF) UKCC Level 1 Certificate for Teaching aquatics/ Coaching Swimming.
