Have a Go at Scottish Gas SwimBritain 2014

This September, Tollcross will be hosting the Scottish leg of Scottish Gas SwimBritain, a series of unique and fun team relay events.

To take part you need a relay team of four people and then choose the distance you and your teammates would like to swim:

SwimBritain 1000: Each team member swims 1000m (4 legs of 250m).

SwimBritain 500: Each team member swims 500m (4 legs of 125m).

Relays will be timed using chipped timing bands so you can track how you do in real time on the day. Team results will also be posted online after the event.

The Scottish launch will take place on Saturday 12 April and will involve a ‘Have a Go’ session, which will take place during the British Swimming Championships.

This family friendly session is the perfect opportunity for you to get some top expert advice on improving your swimming technique before you take on the challenge of SwimBritain again this summer.

Led by our SwimBritain fitness coach, the session will give you tips on improving your stroke and fitness – regardless of your ability. It will also include a ‘once in a lifetime’ session delivered by Olympic Champion Keri-anne Payne and Commonwealth Champion David Carry.

And to top off a great day you will also be provided with complimentary tickets to the evening session of the British Swimming Championships to cheer on the finalists.
