Tuesday, June 24, 2014 Edwards and Tate Selected for GBR Under 17s Water Polo Squad Hannah Edwards (left) and Alison Tate (right) Selected for GBR Junior Water Polo Squad Scottish Water Polo players Hannah Edwards (Menzieshill & Whitehall) and Alison Tate (Dunfermline WPC) have both been selected to represent GBR under 17 as part of the squad of 13 players heading to Germany for a European tournament taking place mid-August. Speaking about their selection Neal Rayner, Scotland Womens National Coach said: 'this is the first time Scottish Swimming has placed two female athletes onto a GBR tournament squad in memory. Between them, Hannah and Alison have 14 senior Scotland caps and this is the first time they will represent GBR at an international tournament'. Alison played well in the Commonwealths for Scotland and she is now one of the most experienceed U17 GBR players and will hopefully use this to her advantage in Germany. Hannah unfortunately just missed Commonwealth selection but promptly went to the Under 18 British interregionals and won player of the tournament. As a left-hander she adds a fast shooting dimension to both Scotland and GBR squads. We wish both girls the best of luck along with the entire GBR squad the best of luck in Germany.
