Team Scotland Aquatics Arrive at Athletes Village

On Sunday Team Scotland swimmers arrived at the Athletes Village and had thier first trip to the Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow, moving one step closer to competing at the Commonwealth Games.

After arriving in Glasgow the athletes were quick to share their delight:

Fiona Donnelly said on Twitter - 'The Athletes Village is Amazing!'

Cameron Brodie said on Twitter - 'Tollcross looking amazing! Can't wait to get in and race!'

This move occured after a successfull Preparation Camp at the Aberdeen Aquatics Centre. Although athletes were arriving from the 6th July, the whole team assembled in Aberdeen to begin thier final preparation ahead of the Games on 15th July.

Athletes and coaches had full support services from the sportscotland Institute of Sport.

We want to say a massive Thank You to not only the support staff but also the staff at Aberdeen Aquatics Centre who helped ensure that the camp ran smoothly for Team Scotland Aquatics.

Laurel Bailey (Team Scotland Coach) expressed her thanks on Twitter - 'Massive thanks to Aberdeen Sports Village for being such great hosts for our CG prep camp, it has been a great two weeks!'
