Scottish Swimming Open Water Come and Try Sessions on Sun 10 Aug are cancelled

It is with regret that we must inform all participants of the Scottish Swimming Open Water Come and Try Sessions on Sunday 10th August at the Helix facility in Falkirk that the event has been cancelled.

Scottish Swimming has been informed by our partners Falkirk Community Trust that due to low water quality levels, the Helix facility will be closed until levels return to a safe standard. Water testing has been carried out frequently on the water at the Helix in the lead up to the event, and due to a number of reasons out with our control, primarily the weather, the water quality has decreased. This has also had an affect on other open water sites across Scotland. Participant health and safety is extremely important to Scottish Swimming and Falkirk Community Trust and the decision has been made to cancel the event with this in mind.

We apologise for the short notice given and any inconvenience caused by the cancellation. We will be issuing a refund to customers within the next 48 hours.

Scottish Swimming and Falkirk Community Trust will be working together to reschedule this event in the near future when we have received confirmation that water quality levels have returned to a normal and safe level. All customers that have booked will be given priority to re-book a session at the rescheduled dates once confirmed that the water quality has returned to the standards the team at Falkirk Community Trust Team require to enable a safe and enjoyable experience.

If you are interested in future sessions, please register here for more information.
