Scottish Swimmers Ready For British Gas Open Short Course Championships

"This is a huge team for us to be taking down to Manchester this year so I’m really excited to see how the swimmers perform", Disability Performance Development Manager Paul Wilson

38 Scottish swimmers have been selected for the British Gas Open Short Course Championships to be held at Manchester Aquatics Centre 22nd & 23rd November.

The Scottish team will be looking to better their 2nd place finish from last year against strong teams from within England and Wales. The confirmed team is listed below and will be headed up by Andy Jackson (Ren96) assisted by Sharon McIntyre (North Ayrshire ST), Jeff Tavendale (Highland ST) and Dawn MacBeth (Inverness ASC).

Disability Performance Development Manager Paul Wilson said "This is a huge team for us to be taking down to Manchester this year so I’m really excited to see how the swimmers perform. We have a number of swimmers attending this meet for the first time as well as a couple of athletes who will be using this meet as their swansong in competitive swimming. It will be sad to see them go but hopefully they will use this event to inspire the next generation youngsters."
