Youth Development Squad Compete in Swim Ulster International Meet/Dave McCullagh Memorial

A team of 25 Youth Development Squad swimmers, from 14 Clubs, will be travelling to Northern Ireland on Thursday 5th March to compete in the Swim Ulster International Meet/Dave McCullagh Memorial in Bangor.

The swimmers were selected having demonstrated excellent commitment, skills, application to learning, general awareness of the sport and contribution to their teams at the Squad training camps in September and December.

This is an opportunity for them to take those qualities into a high-quality racing situation. The Team will be led by Mat Trodden (Edinburgh University), supported by coaches: Monica Borland (FIRST), Lindsay Young (Rutherglen), Lana Borwick (Warrender Baths) and Ollie Waddington (Swim West Lothian).

They will be joining an array of senior Scottish swimmers also competing at the Meet, including a group of para-swimmers who will be putting the final touches to their preparations ahead of the British Team Trials in Glasgow at the end of the month. They will be racing for selection for the IPC World Championships, also being held in Glasgow, in July.
