Youth Development Squad Shine at the Dave McCullagh Memorial

"The focus of the event was for swimmers to work on process goals at this early stage of the LC season" National Coach, Alan Lynn

25 swimmers from the Scottish Swimming Youth Development Squad attended the Dave McCullagh Memorial in Bangor, Northern Ireland (6-8 March) and National Coach, Alan Lynn was of the opinion that the Meet was an unqualified success for the Squad.

Lynn commented, "The focus of the event was for swimmers to work on process goals at this early stage of the Long Course season, developing the things that help them produce better performances and transfer work done from the training pool into the racing environment.

"Overall, there were 97 final session swims, with 60% of these faster than heat swims. I was pleased that the things the swimmers set out to do were largely achieved and if not, will be worked on in the coming weeks towards the Scottish National Age Groups Championships."

The next stop for most of the Squad will be the Edinburgh International Swim Meet (13-15 March) at the Royal Commonwealth Pool where they will get the opportunity to compete against a wealth of international talent, as well later in the month at the Scottish National Age Groups Championships (31 March-5 April) in Aberdeen.
