Strathmore Water set to fuel Scottish Swimming

"Partnering with Scottish Swimming is another great way to support Scottish athletes and inspire others. We hope that with our support Scottish Swimming can continue to deliver excellent results in the pool.” Adrian Troy, Head of Marketing at A.G. Barr

Scottish Swimming and Strathmore are delighted to announce a new sponsorship deal to support Scottish Swimming’s operations and events. The popular Scottish water brand will support the Governing Body for swimming and other aquatic disciplines.

Forbes Dunlop, CEO at Scottish Swimming, is delighted about the new relationship, which is effective from May 2015 onwards.  ‘We’re delighted to welcome Strathmore to our growing portfolio of commercial partners. There’s a great natural match between Strathmore Water and what we are about. For both of us, water is an essential part of what we do.

‘With that great synergy and on the back of our successful Commonwealth Games performance in Glasgow in 2014, we are delighted to welcome Strathmore on board as sponsor, ensuring that we can deliver our events to the same high standard as we did in the lead up to the Games and add value to our discipline and regional events as well. We are looking forward to a successful partnership and would like to thank all people that were involved in the process.’

Strathmore will be the Official Water of Scottish Swimming, and the partnership forms part of a portfolio of sports sponsorship activity for the brand. Strathmore is also encouraging everyone to be active and do a little bit more each day, through its ‘Do More’ campaign.

Adrian Troy, Head of Marketing at A.G. Barr, said:  “At Strathmore, we are committed to inspiring and helping everyone – from members of the public to professional athletes - to Do More in their everyday lives. Partnering with Scottish Swimming is another great way to support Scottish athletes and inspire others. We hope that with our support Scottish Swimming can continue to deliver excellent results in the pool.”

Strathmore’s support will be launched at the next key event, the Scottish National Open Swimming Championships at Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow, which will attract a number of high-calibre athletes as one of the last preparation events before the World Championships in Russia this summer. The event will see about 900 swimmers competing over four days from 25 – 28 June, including Ross Murdoch, Hannah Miley and world-record holder Adam Peaty.
